SMART FARMING TECHNOLOGIES

SMART FARMING AGRICULTURE TECHNOLOGY USING INTERNET OF THINGS

As we know agriculture is the backbone of Pakistan economy and 60% of the population  lives in rural area and completely depend upon agriculture, thus if we increase our technology in agriculture then it will be more helpful to increases economic growth all over the world.

The internet of things as a technology can be used in agricultural industries. That will help farmers to get a solution for challenges they face in farming. Implementing Lot of things in the agriculture will increase the quality, quantity, sustainability and cost effectiveness of agricultural production.

Digital Transformation to smart farming

Lot of things introduces digital farming technology in the agriculture industry. It means it provides an innovative solution based on better input management. The technology involves monitoring every centimeter of the farm. It sends every information to the farmer which helps the farmer to minimize their time and resources in the farm. So they will be able to take advantage of every detail, such as dryness of the soil, early detection of crop disease, etc.

Internet of things technology uses sensors as smart devices that help farmers to have more knowledge about methods of cultivation, suitable environment and best tools to be used in agriculture.

Implementation Of Lot of things in various Agricultural  Fields

  • Water quality monitoring
  • Soil Humidity Monitoring
  • Water irrigation Quality
  • Diesel/Petrol Quantity Monitoring
  • Grain store Quality and Quantity Monitoring
  • Humidity in Food Products Monitoring
  • control of insect and pest Attack

Water Quality Monitoring

In this Water Quality Monitoring system, the chemical, physical, biological characteristics of water are checked and notified at application end.  It checks the quality of water and also notifies about the proper quality to be used for cultivation. As weather conditions change, the purity of water also changes.  These problems can be rectified by remote monitoring the solutions using technology. By using smart sensor we can remotely monitor water quality & pH levels, water flow meters to track consumption, water temperature & pressure, detect prevent & leakages of water etc.

Soil Humidity Monitoring System

Digital soil moisture sensor is used to read accurate soil moisture of the farm and display the current ambient temperature. It has also a light sensor which detects & displays the level of light. Digital soil moisture meter also used for rain & weather monitoring, environmental monitoring, water conservation monitoring which helps the farmer to increase the production level of food in the farm.

Water Irrigation Quality

For agricultural production the major weapon is irrigation and obviously, water is the source for irrigation. To provide a standard quality and quantity of water is one of the major challenges for the agricultural industry. To solve this problem, IoT technology has introduced a smart irrigation system that can help conservation of water resources by monitoring irrigation through the remote sensor. The sensors can be embedded in farmland soil that can easily measure the level of moisture. And sent the information to the farmer in regular interval

Conclusion

So adoption of smart farming technique will boost the growth of agriculture in India were major income comes from the agriculture industry. IoT technology offers real-time monitoring and analytics for smart farming. It would help farmers in decision making and take immediate decisions for events happening. It increased productivity, profit as well as better food productions.
